Modern Talent. Old-School Foundation. Built for Versatility.
Strait Up Metallic, affectionately known as “Chex,” brings together the qualities breeders strive for in a performance horse: exceptional mind, eye appeal, correct conformation, natural athleticism, feel, trainability, and true versatility.
What sets Chex apart is his disposition. His intelligence, willingness, strong work ethic, and calm, level-headed demeanor make his athletic ability not only impressive, but usable. He is the kind of horse that wants to work with his rider, takes training in stride, and approaches new challenges with confidence. Most importantly, these desirable qualities are already showing through in his offspring.
An AQHA Point Earner, AQHA World Show Qualifier, and money earner, Chex continues to build his performance record while proving his usefulness outside the show pen. Currently competing and actively used for ranch work, he represents the balance of modern performance ability.
Chex is sired by Metallic Cattack, an earner of over $30,000 with progeny earnings of $323,891. Metallic Cattack's accomplishments include APHA Open World Champion in Calf Roping, 3rd at the AQHA World Show in Calf Roping, and multiple Open and Non-Pro Cutting Aged Event finalist titles. His pedigree brings the influence of QData's #1 Calf Roping Sire.
On the maternal side, Chex is out of Strait Tiki, a 6666 Ranch-bred daughter of Six Pounds Sterling (Strait Silver). This foundation-rich maternal line contributes generations of ranch usefulness, roping ability, durability, and traditional Quarter Horse breeding.
Chex offers a unique combination of proven performance genetics and old-school ranch horse foundation.
Whether your breeding goals are a competitive rope horse, ranch versatility prospect, all-around performance horse, or a dependable working partner, Chex offers the mind, athleticism, pedigree, and versatility to complement a wide range of mares.
